Volcker Rule or Volcker Reporting was a rule proposed by American economist and former U. S Federal Reserve Chairman, Paul Volcker. In essence, the rule restricts United States banks from taking part in / making certain types of speculative investments that do not in-fact benefit the banks customers.
The rule came into effect on July 21, 2015. When required at scale and minimal margin for error, these reports prove to be highly challenging and time consuming for financial institutions to generate.
